Apple

20 oz water

1/2 turkey and bacon wrap (about 3 oz meat)
2 cups salad w/italian dressing
tomato/mozz salad, about 6 oz total
8 oz OJ

Evening Snack:
1/3 bag of popcorn (it took all the willpower I have to not eat the whole darned bag)

More new exercises

Learned about resistance training at the health center. The machines they used were pretty cool! They're all linked, and the trainers can program your routine for you. You log into each machine, and it reminds you what settings you need to use in order to use the machine. Spiffy!

So, for the day, I spent about 10 minutes on the elliptical machine (gah, I need to figure that one out), 35 minutes on the recumbant bike, and did my resistance training routine. That's the most I've worked out in one day, period. I'm a tired puppy.

Why is the Bald Man trying to lose weight?

It's not really all that complicated. I'm pretty much a poster boy for people at risk for heart disease. I'm in my mid-thirties, I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and am overweight (well, the "experts" would say I'm obese, I'm 60 lbs. over my max weight). I have a family history of heart disease, my dad was in his early forties when he had his heart attack, and my grandfather had several. Additionally, it seems my liver isn't having the best of times, as my triglyceride levels are very high.

Sooooooo........

My regular doctor told me to lose weight. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. She told me repeatedly. OK, I'll get right on it. She told me to do it now. Sure thing. Then she sent me to a gastroenterologist, who told me I had to lose 30 lbs in six months.

Riiiiiight.....

So, I'm getting help, which I'll write about at some point. There's a link over there somewhere which will take you to the clinic I've joined in an effort to get slimmed down.

Be warned....

This blog will, indubitably, suck.

You're probably wondering, what's the point, dude? Why blog about your weight? Why should I care?

Answers: There is no point, other than I need accountability in my struggle to lose weight. This should provide me with that accountability. I'm blogging to keep track of my thoughts as I go through this process, and to track my efforts in achieving my goals.

And, you shouldn't care.
